Kindergarten Courses – General Courses – Biologics, Food Chain

Activity goal

  1. Understand the cycle relationship of animal food in nature;
  2. Be able to find the corresponding food for the animals appearing in the courseware;
  3. Love natural science and have interest in continuing to explore.

Activity procedure

  1. Story import

On a spring morning, the sun was shining brightly, and a food war was going on in the seemingly peaceful fields.

A small aphid is lying on the rice stalk, sucking the juice of the rice stalk contentedly. A ladybug was crawling over without a sound, and the ladybug ate the aphid. Just when the ladybug was proud of her agility and flapped her wings to look for food elsewhere, a sparrow flew by and took the ladybug away, ending the ladybug’s dream. The sparrow had just finished eating the ladybug, when a hungry eagle passed by. Its body was much bigger than the sparrow, and even the big rooster was afraid of it.

What do you guys think about the result?

Sparrows become food for eagles.

Have the children discovered that every animal can find its food, and it also has its natural enemies. Today we will learn about some animals, what food they eat and how they are related.

  1. What animals like to eat

There are a lot of animal food in the middle of the MedoActive desk, which ones do the children know?

There are seaweed, penguins, fish, aphids, spiders, octopuses, seals, birds, rice, ladybugs, shrimps, snakes. Let the children know what they look like, and read their names with the teacher.

In the surrounding lazy river, what small animals are looking for food?

Have the children noticed that some of the food in the middle of the table are the same as the small animals looking for food in the drifting river? Think about it, children, why?

Because some animals are food for other animals, this is a law of nature. The advantage of this rule is that the number of animals can be controlled, and natural disasters will not be caused by an excessive number of animals.

Now invite the children to feed the animals in the lazy river.

The group members worked together to find out the small animal cards first and put them on the table.

Then find its food and place the food in the blank space of the card.

Finally, line up the cards according to the method discussed by your group to see if you can find out their relationship.

Summary

Which animals’ food can form a chain, that is, they are connected with each other?

Terrestrial

Eagles eat birds → birds eat ladybugs → ladybugs eat aphids → aphids eat rice

Snakes eat birds → birds eat ladybugs → ladybugs eat aphids → aphids eat rice

spider eats ladybug → ladybug eats aphid → aphid eats rice

marine

Penguins eat fish → fish eat shrimp → shrimp eat seaweed

Whale eats octopus→octopus eats shrimp→shrimp eats seaweed

Seals eat fish → fish eat shrimp → shrimp eat seaweed

What other food chains can children find in their lives?
